NECKLACE: Ann Taylor //  BAG: Steve Madden via Macy's  //  SHOES: Ivanka Trump

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!  I had a wonderful time celebrating with my family.  We spend Christmas Eve at my granny's house, Christmas day at my parents' house, then go to my grandma's house the Saturday after Christmas.  We have been celebrating nonstop!  One of our annual traditions is watching "Christmas Vacation" (my absolute favorite Christmas movie).  I know every line and can practically quote the movie verbatim, but I so look forward to watching it each year.  :-)

Shifting gears, I love a monochromatic look, especially in cobalt blue.  I purchased the blazer and pants separately, but in person the colors are identical.  Cobalt blue is so sophisticated and stylish, and breaks the monotony of nonstop black suits.  With that being said, I love Tinley Road blazers!  They fit like a charm and are very tailored, which is nice for us petite gals.  I have the one I'm wearing in cobalt blue, as well as one in mustard yellow, and definitely plan on adding more colors to my collection.  Piperlime does not currently have either color in stock, but rotate colors quite often so be sure to be on the lookout for spring colors!

Happy New Year!  What are y'all doing, more importantly, wearing for NYE??

"Hot Child in the City..."

SHIRT: Banana Republic  //  SKIRT: Express  //  BAG: Forever 21 (old), (want!!)  // SHOES: Ivanka Trump

TGIF!  I cannot believe Christmas is next week and 2015 is right around the corner!  I have so much to do before Christmas.... I really need to buckle down and finish my shopping- and by finish, I mean start! Lol!  Thank goodness for online shopping and expedited shipping!

We had our sixth annual law office Christmas Open House benefitting CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) earlier this week and it was a huge success.  Each year, we use the event as a way to raise awareness and funds/toys for CASA.  CASA, through its highly trained volunteers, helps abused and neglected children in the juvenile court system to find permanent, safe and loving homes. The work CASA does in the community is invaluable and benefits so many kids and we are so thrilled to be able to help.  To date, we have raised around $15,000.00, not to mention truck loads and truck loads of toys.  Needless to say, it's been a very busy week for me!

Switching gears, I LOVE Nashville!  I am downtown on Broadway in these pictures.  If you ever get a chance to visit the downtown area, be sure to go to the Stage and Robert's Western World. Those are two of my favorite honky-tonks on Broadway.  I am more of a 12 South/Gulch kind-of-gal these days, but I love all of the live music venues downtown has to offer and rarely pass up an invitation to go. ;)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope y'all have a wonderful weekend!  Is anyone else still rushing to get those last minute gifts??

"Pretty in Pink"

SHIRT: Banana Republic  //  SKIRT: J. Crew  //  COAT:  Pinterest  //  NECKLACE: J. Crew
BOOTIES: Old (similar)

Happy Friday!  I am "tickled pink" (no pun intended, haha) that it is finally the weekend!  :-)

This has to be one of my favorite winter coats of all time.  I found it one day while I was browsing around on Pinterest last year and I love it.  To me, it's very Jackie-O meets Blair Waldorf.  (Two of my favorite ladies!)  The ruffled collar sealed the deal for me.  I love the feminine details... so classy and elegant.  I also love black booties and tights for colder months.  Booties can work for the office to 'shake things up' a bit.  I like to wear booties with tweed skirts (and usually a black turtleneck) and lots of jewelry for a more all-around edgier look.

I hope y'all have a fabulous weekend!  I have a Christmas party tonight and my dad and I are going to the Titans game on Sunday... Both teams are 2-11, so it should be interesting!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I would love to know what you think!

A Tour Through Blogland

Hi, everyone!

I am so excited about today's post!  I was nominated to participate in "A Tour Through Blogland" by the wonderful ladies of the Brooke and Jane Blog.  I absolutely love their blog and think it is so cool that they are sisters-in-law!  They have everything from fashion to food, beauty, recipes and so much more.  It truly is an "Everything Blog" and you could spend hours perusing around looking for inspiration.  (Guilty!!)  I definitely wanted to join in on the fun and let readers know what my blog is all about.

1. What am I working on?
I recently collaborated with a couple of different brands, which was amazing, and I am currently working on some upcoming posts with other blogger friends. Also, last month I discussed "The Top Five Things I’ve Learned in My First Year as a Lawyer" and I plan on doing a follow-up post discussing Bar Exam Success Strategies and Helpful Study Tips for readers taking the February Bar Exam.  (Things I wish someone would have told me!!).  In the future, I would also love to feature more beauty posts and possibly even incorporate video.  Lots of exciting things ahead on the Lawyer Lookbook… stay tuned!  :)

**Here are a few of my recent collaborations via my Instagram123 (all three looks by In Bloom Boutique, c/o), 4 (eShakti, c/o).  I love all of these looks!

2.  How does my work differ from others in it's genre?
I absolutely love to read other blogs and find so much inspiration from doing so!  I love how blogging and social media gives us the platform to celebrate our love for fashion, yet we all have our own unique story and perspective.  That’s what makes blogging so interesting and fun!  I love getting to know other bloggers and readers, as well as their stories.  With that being said, I suppose what makes my blog different is that it primarily features professional style.

3. Why do I write/create what I do?
First and foremost, I love blogging- it is my creative release!  The legal world is primarily male-dominated and does not always embrace fashion.  In my world, first impressions are everything and I always want to look my best while staying true to my personal style.  In many career fields, so many women are afraid to take wardrobe risks at the office for fear of not being taken seriously.  However, I am a firm believer that professional women can be both successful and stylish (think Ivanka Trump), which drove me to start Lawyer Lookbook.

4. How does my writing/creating process work?
As Kate Spade once said, “Playing dress up begins at age five and never truly ends.”  I could not agree more!  I find inspiration from magazines, blogs, Pinterest and just being out and about.  I plan my outfits throughout the week and my dad takes my pictures on the weekends. He is incredibly helpful and I am so grateful for him!  I know he would probably much rather watch football (haha), but he is an excellent sport and we always have a great time.  I usually create content on the weekend and post throughout the week.  I have learned so much from blogging and I am loving every minute of it!

Without further adieu, I would love for you to meet two of my favorite bloggers!  Be sure to visit their blogs, I know you will love them!  Enjoy!
Hi, I'm Becky from Teaching, Learning, & Loving.  I am a Christian, wife, mommy, educational blogger, teachers pay teachers seller and a Pampered Chef consultant.  I also have a M.ed in Instructional Technology.  As you can see, I wear many hats!  I taught Kindergarten for 4 years and virtually in 3rd grade.  I loved being in the classroom, but after having my sweet girl I decided to stay home.  This has given me time to focus on being a mommy, my teachers pay teachers store, my blog and Pampered Chef.  I started my blog in hopes of inspiring other teachers, parents and home school families.

Hi, I'm Tif from Bright on a Budget!  I'm a young professional, wife, and mommy.  I'm also a dedicated bargain hunter who's committed to never paying full-price for anything.  I'll give you beauty, life, and style tips for how to be bright on a budget!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a wonderful day!

Mad for Plaid

SHIRT: Express (old), Similar here  //  SKIRT: J. Crew //  NECKLACE: J. Crew Factory  //  BAG: Michael Kors  SHOES: Ivanka Trump

Hello, friends!  I hope y’all are having a wonderful week so far!  I can’t believe it’s already December!!  Where has this year gone?  It seems like yesterday, we were celebrating the start of 2014... Time flies!

Speaking of how quickly times flies, it seems like yesterday I was in college.  I recently visited Lipscomb University, my alma mater, and that’s where I am for today’s blog post.  I graduated in 2009 with a B.A. in Political Science-Communication and went straight on to law school.  It was so nice to be back on campus- it made me wish I were a college student again (Haha)!  Those were the days, and I wouldn’t trade them for the world.  I miss my Delta Omega ladies and all of my friends! :-)

Ok, so, this plaid No. 2 pencil skirt is one of my favorites this winter.  It is such a classic piece and is perfect for fall and winter.  You can style it with a variety of colors as well as tops (button-downs, turtlenecks, ruffled blouses, etc.).  The possibilities are endless!  I decided to go with a light blue button-down for a more polished and sophisticated look, and because I think the light blue really brings out the green.  You cannot go wrong with this skirt!  Also, I am a huge fan of the elephant charm bracelet you see stacked on my watch.  Ann Taylor sold them last year and gave the proceeds to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (I am so proud to support a Tennessee hospital that helps so many families!).  My mom and I both have one and wear them all the time!  I’m hoping Ann Taylor comes out with another charm bracelet again this year.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I would love to know what you think in the comment section below!  Have a great rest of the week!
