Fashion Show Benefitting Multiple System Atrophy ("MSA")

"Models" for In Bloom Boutique getting ready before the show.  Love these ladies!!

My trusty photographer, a/k/a my Dad, snapped the following three photos of me in the coral shift dress prior to the show.  Both of my parents came to the show!

My friend, Blake Lannom of Blake Lannom Photography, was one of the event photographers and snapped the below photos of me in the blue maxi dress after the show.  It was so great to see him and catch up!

Hello, friends!  I hope you had a fabulous weekend!

If you follow me on Instagram, then you probably saw where I was getting ready to walk in BombShells Hair Studio and Spa's Fifth Annual Charity Fashion Show benefitting Multiple System Atrophy ("MSA").  We had an amazing time and it was such an honor to be invited to participate!  The ladies of Bombshells did our hair and makeup before the show while we listened to 80's music.  They did a fabulous job!

The night began with yummy hors d'oeuvres and refreshments from local vendors for everyone to enjoy during the silent auction.  Three local boutiques provided runway looks for summer 2015.  I wore two gorgeous dresses from In Bloom Boutique.  In Bloom Boutique has SO many fashion-forward new looks for spring and summer, and the best part is that everything is very affordable (hello, tax season!).  I saw so many gorgeous options that I would totally wear to weddings, summer barbecues, girls' nights, and on vacation.  Plus, I love how they offer FREE shipping on their website!  Definitely check them out- I love to support local businesses and I can tell you firsthand that the mother and daughter co-owners of In Bloom Boutique are wonderful and are some of the nicest people you will ever meet.  :-)

Prior to the show, I had never heard of MSA.  I did some research, and from what I have gathered, MSA is a rare progressive neurodegenerative and impairs the autonomic nervous system, which regulates many important bodily functions.  Some of these functions include: blood pressure, heart rate, digestion, and the ability to sweat.  Also, MSA causes muscle tremors and rigidness.  One of the women with a relative suffering from the disease described it as "absolutely horrible....it is the equivalent of being trapped inside your own body with no voice."

Over the last four years, this event has raised more than $14,000.00 for MSA!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful Monday!  Be sure to follow along on Bloglovin' and Instagram:)

Two-Tone

DRESS: Ann Taylor  (no longer available, also love this)  //  NECKLACE: Zara  //  BRACELETS: Ann Taylor (elephant, similar pearl bracelet here)  //  BAG:  Michael Kors  //  SHOES: Ivanka Trump

Hello, friends!

I am keeping it simple today in this ultra-classic and chic Ann Taylor two-tone number.  This is seriously one of my favorite work dresses to date.  I found this jewel a few months ago, but it has already been through a lot: client meetings, board meetings, networking events, and happy hours (I was even photographed wearing it in a local magazine for a Chamber of Commerce event!).  If you are going for a more formal day-time look, it looks adorable with a short, tailored black blazer, but I prefer to wear it sans blazer to really accentuate the cut out.  And, of course, y'all know me, throw on some pearls!  ;-)  What are some of your classic favorites and how do you re-wear them?

On a side note, who all is going to Nashville Fashion Week??  They just announced another amazing event for "Accessories as Art Designershere!  Some of the brands include Bone Feather, Seraphine Design, Fanny & June, Margaret Ellis Jewelry, Peter Nappi, RINjuel and Shutter & Shuttles.  That is such an amazing lineup!

Nautical Vibes

BLAZER: Banana Republic  //  SKIRT: Banana Republic  //  SHIRT: J. Crew  //  NECKLACE: Ann Taylor (practically identical here)  //  EARRINGS: Kate Spade  //  BAG: Coach  //  SHOES: Ivanka Trump

Hello, friends!  I hope you are having a wonderful week!

I decided to go for a more nautical vibe for today's post since it is spring break time and everyone is going to the beach (jealous!!).  Spring break also means it is almost time for Nashville Fashion Week!

I cannot tell you how much I love this navy blue Banana Republic number that I recently scored on major sale (40% off!!).  I don't wear navy that often, but I was instantly drawn to this suit for spring and summer.  I love how classic and versatile it is.  It pairs very nicely with white, nude, mint green and blush, for a more feminine touch.  Speaking of which, I think one of the main reasons I don't wear navy all that often is that it seems like the options are much more limited, as opposed to say, options in black.  I know I have had trouble finding a pretty navy suit over the years that is not boring/boxy.  I loved this suit so much that I also bought the pants.  As an added bonus, I love wearing the blazer with jeans for a more casual weekend look.   It is so classic!

One more thing, I have to give a shoutout to the ladies of Delta-O!  One of our sisters got married this weekend and it was so lovely to see everyone.  We danced up a storm and sang our lungs out to "Bennie and the Jets", just like old times.  :-)

Spring Fever

BLAZER: Loft  (similar  here and here) //  SHIRT: Express (similar) //  SKIRT: J. Crew  //  BAG: Dillards    SHOES: Ivanka Trump  //  BRACELET: Kendra Scott

I have officially caught spring fever!  Finally, the ice has melted away and the sun has made an appearance after what seems like an eternity!

It's no secret that I love pink... and how perfect is this Loft pink peplum blazer!  This is such a fun and girly piece and the material is amazing.  Also, I love the peplum detailing on the back.  I love wearing this blazer with an assortment of different colored skirts (and dresses), but I love this pink and green color combination to ease into spring.  It definitely makes for the perfect spring outfit and I have no doubt I will be wearing in on repeat in the upcoming months!

Oh, and Kendra Scott is also having a major sale right now on both her website and at Nordstrom (online and in store).  My mom and I were at Nordstrom over the weekend and I got one in white and she got one in blue.   I want one in every color!

Law Suit

SUIT : Ann Taylor (sold out)  //  SHIRT: The Limited  //  BAG: Michael Kors  //  BRACELETS: Kendra Scott (on sale!), Ann Taylor  //  SHOES: Ivanka Trump

Hello, friends!  I hope you are having an amazing week!  I cannot believe we are now in March, but I am certainly ready for spring!

For today's outfit post, I thought I'd share one of my "law suits"... as in a suit that I would wear to court.  (Not to worry, I won't bore you with any legal "mumbo jumbo", lol).  ;-)

I absolutely love this Ann Taylor suit as a twist to the traditional black suit.  Who says professional women have to wear boring boxy suits??  This suit is so feminine and ladylike that sometimes I forget that I am going to court.  Normally, I wear tailored black suits with a crisp white button-down and a lot of jewelry.  I love how the ruffles give this blazer a chic and polished touch, really making it unnecessary to even wear a necklace (I've experimented with several different necklaces, but I like it better with no necklace, so as not to take away from the pretty ruffle detailing).  Oh, and you can probably tell that my Michael Kors Hamilton bag is one of my go-to bags!  I think it's beautiful and it holds all of my work essentials (iPad, case file, business cards, etc.)  Plus, since it is black it goes with everything.

Thanks so much for stopping by- I would love to know what you think in the comment section below!  Be sure to follow along on Bloglovin' and Instagram:)
