"Imagine... You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one.."

DRESS: Ann Taylor  (no longer online, but in store)  (similar) //  BAG: Kate Spade  //  BRACELET: Kendra Scott (on sale!) //  Shoes: Ivanka Trump

Hi, everyone!  I hope you have had a wonderful week!  TGIF!!

I am in Florida vacationing with my family at the beautiful Ormond-By-the-Sea at the moment.  We are having a wonderful time!  Our flight out was a nightmare.  We sat on the runway at BNA in Nashville for over an hour while the crew worked on engine problems...  Eventually, we had to deplane.  Delta encouraged everyone to make other flight arrangements because they "didn't have a plan", and it was a total madhouse- everyone was livid.  A couple of hours later, Delta finally fixed the plane so everyone got back on (all the flights to Atlanta were booked and we couldn't find 4 free seats).  Everyone that made other flight arrangements scrambled to change their boarding passes to get back on, so once again, we had to sit on the runway for close to another hour while Delta sorted through all of that and issued all new boarding passes.  We missed our connecting flight in Atlanta, but luckily were able to catch one a few hours later.  Whew!  We finally made it and are having a great time.  The weather is perfect and we have had some fabulous seafood!

Anyway, I have been on a major white kick lately and love this little white dress for summer.  I love the crochet pattern and all the intricate detailing.  The hemline sealed the deal for me- I love how it is cut!  I feel like it makes me look taller (maybe I'm just imagining that??? Haha!!).  Plus, I think it makes the dress more fun and gives you the flexibility to be a little more casual if you like, while still looking ladylike in white.  As far as handbags are concerned, I normally carry a nude bag, but decided to throw on my Sally for a pop of pink.  You can get away with just about anything since it is white!

Thanks so much for stopping by.... I'm off to the beach!   Be sure to follow along on Bloglovin' and Instagram:)

Title from John Lennon's "Imagine".  These little round sunnies remind me of him.  :-)

Happy Friday!  If you live in Nashville and are looking for something fun to do this weekend, grab your girlfriends and head to Nashville's Belcourt Theatre to see the premier of "Iris".  (See here for showtimes). Known for her eclectic style and those iconic round glasses, that "rare bird" is as fabulous as ever at 93 years old. I hope I'm as fabulous at that age! Haha!  ;-)

Here is a sneak peak at the "Iris" trailer:

Also, there are two other fashion documentaries now playing at Belcourt: Grey Gardens and Dior and I.  All three documentaries sound fascinating and I'm hoping to catch them all at some point.  If you see any of these films, let me know what you think!

"Last Dance with Mary Jane.."

SWEATER: Ann Taylor  (no longer available) //  SHIRT: Banana Republic  //  SKIRT: Banana Republic
BAG: Michael Kors  //  SHOES: Macy's (old) //  NECKLACE: J. Crew  //  BRACELETS: Kendra Scott, Ann Taylor

Do you ever find yourself in a complete wardrobe rut??  You know the feeling... staring inside your closet, but feeling so uninspired and as if you have absolutely nothing to wear..  That has happened to me way more than I care to admit.  We all have those days when something seems off: the weather is nasty and ruins everything, you already wore that outfit at least a hundred times, and my personal favorite, what you really want to wear is at the dry cleaners.  On days like this, I go straight to my cardigan collection.  I love a good cardigan, and this Ann Taylor polka dot cardigan is one of my favorites.  I love to wear a white button-down underneath for a more polished and ladylike look.  Of course, if that is too formal for your liking, you can always go sans button-down and still look very put-together, your call.

Also, you may have guessed from this post's title, I am a big fan of Mary Jane pumps (and Tom Petty) to complement the cardigan look.  I found these on sale at Macy's a couple of years ago and they have been wonderful- amazing quality for a low price.

Have a great day!  Here is a little Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers "Mary Jane's Last Dance" to start your day off right- a Nashville favorite!!

Parisian Chic

SHIRT: Forever 21 (old)  //  PANTS: Banana Republic //  BAG: Michael Kors  //  SHOES: Ivanka Trump    NECKLACE: Express (similar)    BRACELET: Express (similar)  //  Mindy Mae's Market

Happy Friday!  TGIF!!  What a week!

These Banana Republic wide-leg pants have to be some of my favorite summer dress pants to date.  The material is so incredibly comfortable, that in some ways I feel like I am wearing pajamas on the job!  At first I was hesitant that they might look a little funny on me since I am 5'2'', but they are flattering no matter how tall (or not-so-tall, ahem) you are.  I especially love the bow tie on the waist for a feminine touch.  I went for a casual Parisian look here by pairing them with this ultra sheer and girly Forever 21 top.  Speaking of Parisian, I am ready for a trip to Paris.... or, at least the weekend!  One can dream, right?  Au Revoir! ;-)

Tennessee Orange

DRESS: Ann Taylor  //  BAG: Coach  //  NECKLACE & BRACELET: Banana Republic  (no longer available)   SHOES: Steve Madden

Hi, everyone!  I hope y'all had a lovely Mother's Day!

Today, I am wearing one of my favorite summer work dresses.  This Ann Taylor sleeveless miracle dress is the perfect dress for a hot summer day.  (Hello, 90-degrees and excessive Tennessee humidity, I've missed you SO much!!)  I love everything about it- the color, length, detailing at the waist, not to mention, it is figure-flattering, but still very conservative.  It is actually sleeveless, but if you have petite shoulders like me, you can wear it as a cap sleeve.  I love wearing it to run around town in it because the material is so light.  Something else I love, is that you can style it differently each time you wear it, so it looks like a new dress each time.  I tend to go for a more Aztec-ian vibe and pair it with this Banana Republic matching turquoise necklace and bracelet set and hot pink lipstick and nails.

On a side note, thanks so much for all of your sweet comments about my little Bruiser baby.  I'm pretty sure yesterday was the worst day of his life...  I took him to get neutered, microchipped, nails clipped (he has never had this done and they were so long), heart worm and Parvo, bless his heart.  I felt so horrible!  I don't know which was worse, dropping that scared (and clueless) little baby off at the clinic or picking him up and hearing him cry the whole way home from being in so much pain.  :/   He is groggy, but recovering very well!  I've been babying him and giving him lots of treats.

Happy Mother's Day!!

SHIRT: The Limited (similar) //  PANTS: J. Crew  //  NECKLACE and BANGLE: Rocksbox (use code "lawyerlookbookxoxo" for one free month!)

Happy Friday, Friends and TGIF!!!

I'd like to introduce you to my new little rescue fur baby on this Mother's Day weekend...  Meet Bruiser Woods, named after Elle's Chihuahua in "Legally Blonde".  He is part Chihuahua and part Jack Russell Terrier.  He is also a "Gemini", but not a vegetarian.  ;-)  I found him famished, limping and crying on the side of the road a few weeks ago while out snapping blog pics.  You first saw him here for the first time.   He loves fashion- especially my shoes....  It seems like fate and fashion brought us together: we met at a blog photoshoot, and our first week together was Nashville Fashion Week.  I think we were meant to be!

I contacted several local animal shelters and rescue groups, but no luck finding an owner or a forever home. Fast-forward a few weeks later and now, we are living happily ever after.  Being a "dog mom" is the best!

I hope y'all have a wonderful Mother's Day!!  I can't wait to celebrate this weekend with my fabulous mom!!! What are your plans for Mother's Day??

Rocksbox Review

SHIRT: The Limited (similar) //  PANTS: J. Crew  //  NECKLACE and BANGLE: Rocksbox (use code "lawyerlookbookxoxo" for one free month!)

Hello, Friends and happy Cinco de Mayo!!

I am so excited to talk Rocksbox in today's post!  I was so pumped to receive my first Rocksbox set in the mail this weekend.  I have been on a major jewelry kick here lately and have been pushing myself to try new trends and think "outside the box" (haha) from what I normally gravitate towards, especially with summer right around the corner.

Rocksbox is pretty much the greatest subscription service since Netflix (any Gossip Girl or House of Cards fans??).  Rocksbox is a jewelry subscription service that lets you try before you buy.  Here is how it works: for $19.00 a month, Rocksbox sends you three pieces of jewelry at a time.  You start by filling out a brief survey about your personal jewelry tastes and your personal stylist then selects three pieces based off of your feedback.  You can also request specific pieces or designers and create a wish list.  I noted that I love Kendra Scott, and bam, I got the Rayne necklace that I've been drooling over for months!  My first box arrived approximately four days after I took the survey.

One of my favorite things about Rocksbox is that you can wear the jewelry as many times as you would like, then send it back when you are ready to try something new.  The kicker?  You can send your box back as many times as you wish during the month.  There are no shipping fees, as Rocksbox sends you a printed return shipping label when you are ready to send your box back.  On the other hand, if you decide to purchase a piece, you get to purchase it at an insider price, which is 20% off the regular retail price.  You also receive a $10 credit each month that you can put towards any of the items in your box.  As you can see from the photos, I loved my first box and was very impressed with the quality of the pieces.  My box included pretty peach Perry Street Callie earrings, a silver House of Harlow bangle, and of course, the silver Kendra Scott Rayne necklace.

If you want to give Rocksbox a try, sign up at and use code "lawyerlookbookxoxo" to get your first month FREE!  No charges, not even shipping fees for sending your box back- totally free.  Disclaimer: when you do sign up, you have to enter your credit card information for authorization purposes and Rocksbox charges you $25.00, but they immediately refund it.  (I had to do this step too and checked my bank statement soon after and the money was immediately refunded, so no worries).  I've really enjoyed Rocksbox so far and can't wait to see what I get in my next box!!

I'd love to hear your thoughts!  What is on your wishlist??
