1. CMA Fest
It's that time of year again! CMA Fest is all the rage in Nashville right now. Thousands of country music fans from all over the world have taken over downtown Nashville to celebrate country music and experience four days of music from dozens of big-name and up-and-coming artists. No tickets? No worries. There are seven stages scattered throughout downtown where you can catch free shows- I highly recommend it! I plan on catching some of the shows this weekend and am going to the final lineup at LP Field Sunday night. I can't wait!
If you go, here is a handy little app you can download for performances, times, stages, etc. Also, here is a full schedule of events to help you get organized.
2. Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival
You can't talk about CMA Fest and not mention Bonnaroo! The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival is an annual four-day music festival held at Great Stage Park, or, as locals call it "The Farm" in Manchester, Tennessee. Bonnaroo has evolved and diversified immensely since its inception in 2002, and features a wide variety of musical genres, including country, pop, indie rock, classic rock, hop hop, jazz, reggae and others. Not to mention, Bonnaroo has had an eclectic array of artists over the years as well, including Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Elton John, Tom Petty, Jay-Z and Kanye West, just to name a few.
I've always wanted to venture down to "The Farm" to catch a few shows, but I am a hotel kind of gal. I can't sleep in a tent for a week with no shower or AC and only eat processed food. Haha! One of my best friends is going for her fourth year, so I will live vicariously through her. :-) I do think it would be so fun to go because the lineup looks amazing!
3. Italian Style: Fashion Since 1945
The Italian Style: Fashion Since 1945 exhibit is now showing at The Frist Center for the Visual Arts. Italian Style showcases fashion from leading Italian fashion houses, including Dolce & Gabbana, Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Missoni, Prada, Pucci, Valentino and Versace, as well as newer designers. I love going to the Frist and cannot wait to see this exhibit for myself!
On a similarly related note, Iris is still showing at the Belcourt Theatre. I saw it opening weekend and highly, highly recommend it!
4. Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams Grand Opening
photo creditsIf you have a major sweet tooth like me, listen up! Jeni's Ice Cream is opening their fourth location tonight in Hillsboro Village. Jeni's will be serving free scoops from 7-10 p.m., and the first fifty customers will receive an adorable ceramic flavor mug. How cool is that?? (No pun intended).
5. The Rolling Stones at LP Field
"Start me up..." So, technically, the Stones play Wednesday night, but this is HUGE for Nashville, so they absolutely make the list. The Stones will be performing this Wednesday night at LP Field alongside Brad Paisley and other surprise musical guests. I am beyond excited to go with my family and witness history from the greatest rock and roll band of all time!
What are y'all doing this weekend? I'd love to know if you are going (or have gone) to any of these events and what you thought! If you see me out and about, please say hello!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Be sure to follow along on Bloglovin' and Instagram! :)
