Save or Splurge

[All images clickable.]

As a young professional, I am always on the hunt for a good deal when it comes to shopping for the latest trends. I am much more inclined to splurge on high-quality, timeless investment pieces that I will wear often and are reflective of my personal style.  Several of the items above look practically identical side-by-side, but the ones to the left are less expensive alternatives, and most people probably would not even notice you are donning a dupe. For example, I love these BP round sunglasses (only $12!) as a cheaper alternative to these Karen Walker round shades, and wear mine all the time.  On the flip side, I splurged on the Clare V fold-over leopard clutch during Shopbop's Christmas Sale, but it is totally worth the splurge because it is the perfect daytime and evening clutch, although the leopard clutch to the left is a very nice alternate at close to one-half the price.  What do you think?

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great weekend!

  1. Great options. I tend to go the save route too. High end designer pieces just aren't in my budget.

  5. Such a great and helpful post, Brittany! I too only splurge on timeless classics that I know I will wear for years to come, everything in between, I try and cut corners with sales or good quality dupes, especially if they're trendy. I'm loving all of your selections here. The save alternatives do in fact look a lot like the splurges, great eye! I hope you have a lovely weekend and thanks so much for sharing!

  15. Personally, I don't really approve of dupes. I am on the save side too, but with original creations, not cheap replicas of big designer names.

  16. I'm with you in that sometimes I save and sometimes I splurge. Love good dupes--Target currently has the most adorable Merona tassel keychain for $5 that looks just like the $45 Rebecca Minkoff ones! But sometimes you just have to splurge for the real deal!
