Back to School Basics

Back to School Fashion, First Day of School

It's that time of year again... back to school time!  I have always loved the first day back to school, and the thrill of a new academic year.  It's a fresh start and a new beginning.  New school supplies, new friends, new classes, everything is new and exciting.  One sure way to start school off on the right foot is by investing in some classic back to school basics that will give you the confidence you need to bring your "A-game" in style.

Let me preface by saying that you don't have to spend a fortune to look your best.  In fact, all of these items are less than $100, most under $50.  You will want to invest in a few timeless staple pieces that you can mix and match year-round.  For example, this striped shirt ($19) is the perfect layering shirt that will look great no matter the season, plus, it is super comfortable for those long hours of lectures and library time.  A classic blazer for presentations or interviews is also great to have on hand.  I like this blazer because it is tailored and less than $40, which is a bargain.  Of course, you also need a stylish and durable tote to carry the essentials in between classes.  I love this tan tote for under $25.  It looks like a Tory Burch bag, but is a fraction of the cost!  Finally, I am a stickler for pearls.  I have this pearl necklace ($32) and wear it all the time.  I wear it with casual outfits as well as more dressy looks, and always get a lot of compliments on it.  It is also a great layering piece.  I love to put a crystal necklace underneath to give it a little extra sparkle.  What are your favorite back to school basics?

Good luck to everyone and study hard- it will pay off!!  :-)  Thanks for stopping by!
