Makeup Essentials

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8

1. Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation- Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation is the best full coverage foundation I have tried!  I have combination skin (sensitive and oily) and since this foundation is oil free it stays in place all day and leaves my skin looking and feeling flawless.  As an added bonus, it has SPF 15.

2. Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer-  This is my go-to concealer for under my eyes.  It is very rich and creamy and blends right in to my skin.  I wear it in "Honey".

3. Mac Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation- I use Mac's Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation to set my liquid foundation and concealer.  I have been using this product for years and absolutely love it!  It goes on smoothly and gives my skin a porcelain look.

4. Almay Intense I-Color Liquid Eyeliner- I love this Almay liquid eyeliner in Black Pearl to line my upper lashes.  It is such an amazing drug store find and lasts several months.  It is waterproof and stays in place all day.

5. Mac Blanc Type Eyeshadow- I am a huge fan of Mac eyeshadows because they are highly pigmented and last all day.  Blanc Type is my daily go-to eyeshadow.  It is the perfect barely-there neutral which makes it easy to build and blend and will make your eyes pop.  Also, you can add other colors to the crease for depth or to the lid for color.  If you have fair skin like I do, Blac Type is a must!

6. Too Faced- This Too Faced "Better Than Sex" mascara is hands-down the best mascara that I've tried thus far.  I love the full volume wand and how thick and long it makes my lashes look.  It is a bit pricey, but worth every dollar!

7. Mac Blush- I love Mac blushes!  They go on sheerly and smoothly and last forever!  I rotate colors, but I have been wearing "Pinch O Peach" a lot for a natural, summery air-kissed look.  Mac blushes blend very well and blend beautifully with bronzer.

8. Candy Yum Yum- Candy Yum Yum is my favorite pink lipstick.  Ever.  It is the perfect pop of pink year-round.

Must-Have Leopard Clutch

Clare V. Leopard Foldover Clutch

People often ask me what is one clutch or handbag that they should splurge on.  Although there is no right or wrong answer, this Clare V. Supreme Haircalf Fold Over Leopard Clutch has been my best investment over the last year, as far as clutches are concerned.  It is a bit pricey, but totally worth the splurge, because I carry it nonstop.  I often take it downtown for nights out with girlfriends, or, to more dressy events, as well as to brunch on the weekend.  It goes with everything and is the perfect size for all of the essentials.  As I get older, I am truly starting to appreciate investing in lasting quality pieces, and that I would rather invest in fewer quality, lasting "splurge" items, rather than purchase a bunch of cheaper "trendy" items that are of lower quality.

"As far as I'm concerned, leopard is a neutral," Jenna Lyons.

Happy Monday!  For today's post, I am sharing a roundup of some of my favorite basic white wardrobe staples. Never underestimate the power of a classic white button-down, layering tee, or turtleneck, for that matter. White goes with everything and is so classic.  Now that fall (a/k/a layering season) is quickly approaching, a basic short or long-sleeved white tee is perfect to wear with a motto jacket and/or blanket scarf.  Also, a pretty white turtleneck is a must to wear to work with pencil skirts and blazers, and with jeans on the weekend.  I absolutely love this tissue turtleneck! It is so soft and is the perfect fall wardrobe staple, because I wear turtlenecks nonstop in cooler months (side note: it is not bulky like many other turtlenecks!).  The best part about this turtleneck is that it is under $20.00 and comes in so many pretty colors, such as Paris Pink! What basic white wardrobe staples are you investing in this fall/winter??

5 Trends to Try This Fall

Hi, everyone!  I am so excited to guest post today over on Bright on a Budget to share some of my favorite fall trends.  Tif of Bright on a Budget was one of my first blogger friends.  She too is an attorney and blogs about all things fashion, beauty and lifestyle.  I have shared a peek of my guest post below, but be sure to check out her blog for more details and lots of daily inspiration!

1. Chunky Sweater
A quality chunky sweater is a major fall must-have.  I love layering chunky sweaters over basic button-downs to create a sophisticated casual look that will keep me warm in the cooler temps.

4. Faux Leather Pencil Skirt
This faux leather pencil skirt was quite possibly one of my favorite purchases last fall.  I love the faux leather material and the rich brown hue.  This skirt is gorgeous, and perfect for transitioning into cooler months.  I love wearing it with turtlenecks and booties, or, a button-down and stilettos.

This Talbots bold Dahlias Pencil skirt is the perfect pencil skirt for transitioning into fall!  I love the bold colors and pretty floral print.  This skirt looks gorgeous with a classic white button-down and/or a navy blazer for the office, especially paired with gold jewelry.  I love the feminine silhouette, yet appreciate the fact that the cotton fabric stretches, keeping me comfortable all throughout the work day.  Not to mention, the mid-knee length is totally appropriate for a professional setting.

Good morning, I hope you had a nice weekend!  This Eliza J. floral print dress is one of my favorite summer-to-fall dresses.  I wore it to an outdoor wedding a couple of weeks ago, and received so many compliments on it. The fabric is very comfortable and even stretches, which made it easy to sit through the wedding, but more importantly, hit the dance floor.  Haha!  I love the bright and cheerful painted floral pattern and the fact that it has pockets.  I also love the flared hemline and cap sleeves- this is such a flattering dress for all body types!

Color Crush

J. Crew Yellow Skirt, Lawyer Fashion

TOP: Ann Taylor | SKIRT: J. Crew | Necklace: Moon & Lola | BRACLET: c/o Moon & Lola | BAG: Similar | SHOES: Ivanka Trump (also love these for <$60) | SUNNIES: Nordstrom | LIPSTICK: Mac

I have a serious color crush on canary yellow, and this Ann Taylor scallop top and J. Crew yellow pencil skirt are a match made in (color) heaven.  I love "shopping my closet" and pairing older pieces that I may not necessarily wear together to create entirely new looks.  I love this all yellow work outfit for a very on-trend 60's inspired look that I can wear to the office.

You do not have to spend a fortune and constantly buy all new items to keep up with the latest trends.  Use your imagination to piece outfits together and throw on some pretty statement  jewelry to take your look to the next level.  Have fun with your work wardrobe!

On a side note, my camera kept messing up and eventually died when we were snapping these photos.  It made strange noises the entire time and nearly all the photos were blurry (except for these), but I think I fixed it. Hopefully, it will be back to normal soon!
